The Talent Development Initiative (TDI) is designed to support young professionals and emerging community leaders as they build the skills, confidence, and networks needed to lead meaningful change. Through professional development, mentorship, and experiential learning, participants strengthen their personal awareness, community engagement, and career readiness.
TDI helps cultivate a pipeline of educators, youth workers, organizers, and professionals who are committed to strengthening Flint and Genesee County.
Program Focus
The Talent Development Initiative prepares young professionals for meaningful careers by combining leadership development with real-world experience inside the FFSC. Participants are not only trained—they actively contribute to programs, partnerships, and community initiatives while building the skills needed for long-term professional success.
Through this experience, the program helps strengthen the local workforce pipeline by preparing emerging leaders who are ready to support youth development, education, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement.
Professional & Personal Development
Workshops and training help participants strengthen communication, leadership, time management, and career readiness skills.
Technical Training
Participants gain practical knowledge and tools that support success in education, youth development, nonprofit work, and community programs.
Relationship & Social Capital
Through networking opportunities, conferences, and community events, participants build meaningful professional relationships that open doors for career advancement.
Experiential Leadership Pathways
Young professionals gain hands-on experience by serving in real roles within FFSC programs and initiatives, developing practical skills while preparing for their choosen careers through facilitator, leadership, and partnership pathways.
