Program Overview
The FFSC Talent Development Program engages college students and young professionals in virtual and in-person professional development. The TDI works to engage existing and potential educators/community program talent in development that builds their personal awareness, motivation for community engagement, and tangible abilities. This program prepares workforce-aged adults in the following areas: 1) Professional/ Personal Development; 2) Technical Training; 3) Relationship/ Social Capital Cultivation

Talent Development Initiative
The Talent Development Initiative began as a call for support and the creation of a space where young professionals and college students can learn, grow, and develop in the workforce. It started as a standalone collaborative training. During this training, we invited local organizations to train their talent on various subjects for programming initiatives. After compiling our data one summer, we learned that our team wanted more training and ways to sharpen their skills. They were looking to diversify their professional portfolios and prepare to be the best youth workers for our CDF Freedom School summer program. This feedback led to the next phase of the initiative.

Development Plan for You
The Talent Development Initiative now develops our talent year-round. Participants can select their preferred community workshops, trainings, and other development opportunities, giving them autonomy over their growth areas. In our first year, we started with our site leadership and invited them to this additional experience, resulting in immediate growth in their capabilities in the following summer program. As we continue to test this program, our goal is to develop dynamic talent, tap into their superpowers, and help them expand their growth and knowledge in their chosen career fields. This program is for individuals who seek to do more, reach the next level, and invest in their growth. Our commitment is to provide them with the resources and structure to do so.
