2022 Summer pROGRAM STAKEHOLDERS
We are so glad to have you as a part of our Flint Freedom School family! Below are the resource folders for all of our stakeholders participating in the 2022 Freedom Schools Summer Program.
We are a community informed, collaborative solution to closing the educational gap, fostering positive esteem and encouraging retention and development of youth, young adults and professional talent throughout Flint and Genesee County.
The Flint Freedom Schools Collaborative facilitates culturally-relevant, literacy-focused programming, promotes equitable learning opportunities, and contributes to community-driven partnerships.
The Flint Freedom Schools Collaborative had its start in 2016 when Bethel United Methodist hosted its first CDF Freedom School summer program site, in response to the Flint Water Crisis. In 2018, the New Evolution Educational Center followed suit, hosting sites at Agape Church and Mt. Olive. In 2019, The Michigan Conference of the UMC and NEEC combined their efforts to form the Flint Freedom Schools Collaborative (FFSC).
